There is something pretty cool happening in Digbeth at the moment. Wine Freedom, the Midlands-based natural wine supplier is hosting a number of wine popups in some of Digbeth’s coolest spaces to raise the profile of handcrafted wine and basically help you live that good wine life. Because life is too short for shit wine, shit food, shit men etc etc.
Back in November, Wine Freedom led by Sam Olive and Taylor Meanwell took over Digbeth’s brewery and tap-room, Dig Brew Co and showcased 10 unique, natural wines and 2 wine flights.
Against an eclectic playlist, we sampled a variety of wines by simply ordering at the bar which was a bit more chilled and caj than your standard wine tasting event and I loved it.
This was east London vibes turned up to 100, just without the east London dickery and instead only that brummie vibe we know and love remained. Stirchley popup favourite, Bun Shop and their popular food menu was on hand to cater for all our foodie needs including their kebab twist on top of pizza. Stuff of dreams. If you missed this party, you seriously missed out.
But, BIG NEWS. From TONIGHT, Wine Freedom is taking over Arch 21 at the Custard Factory for 11 days with a festive, natural wine pop-up. 140 different wines will be on offer, including red, white, pink, orange and fizzy wines and the most intriguing mulled orange wine- created by Nocturnal Animal’s award-winning mixologist, James Bowker.
If its food you’re after as you sip and sip that good life, Kilder will be providing all your cheese toastie needs and what else goes better with wine than a ham and special Kilder mustard, cheese toastie.
The pop up launches tonight, from 5pm- late, and continues:
Fri 14th / Sat 15th / Sun 16th from 12pm- late.
Thurs 20th Dec from 5pm- late, and Fri 21st / Sat 22nd / Sun 23rd from 12pm- late.
Get involved, you don’t want to miss this!
