An African themed restaurant, Nakira Bar and Grill opens on John Bright Street today.
This part of Brum is fast becoming the place to go for a bite to eat and drink with spots including Cherry Reds, The Stable and my beloved Victoria amongst others.
Based in the building that was formerly home to Lobster Peninsula, Nakira will be under new management and will have a “fun, friendly and modern vibe” and traditional African interior and furnishings.
Diners can expect a full braai – a large South African barbecue grill, serving a range of African cuisine, including game meats; springbok steak, ostrich rump and sides such as chakalaka, jollof rice and much more. If burgers are your thing, then you can even get stuck into ostrich, alpaca and crocodile burgers.
The cocktail bar will be fully stocked, serving cool creations such as Nakira Martinis (a Pornstar Martini with a Nakira twist); as well as Amarula Martinis made with the South African liqueur, Amarula.
Nakira Bar & Grill will open with a soft launch today and officially in a few weeks. Sounds pretty exciting to me, meet you over an Ostrich burger?
