#LetsGetMessy is not something you need to ask me twice when it comes to food.
Based on Colmore Row, Nosh & Quaff is from the guys behind Lasan, Fiesta Del Asado and Raja Monkey so you know it’s going to be a little bit good and good it is. Overlooking Victoria Square and set against an industrial backdrop, the vibe is stylish and slick with exposed brick walls, industrial lighting and quirky fixtures and fittings and a really cool surprise if you go downstairs.
Lobster is the main focus of the menu, complemented by gourmet burgers, ribs, wings, hotdogs and a multitude of sides including charred corn and onion rings. It really reminds me of Burger and Lobster in London, same same but different, good different.
The menu is concise and casual but at the same time, jam packed with indulgent picks to stuff yourself silly or share, if you’re feeling kind. It takes me a few minutes to settle on a dish, after changing my mind three times, despite me looking at the menu earlier in the day. A sign of a good menu in my book.
I order the Sucklebuster, a Rack of Smoky BBQ-Glazed Pork Ribs in a Mustard Rub with a side of Chips and Slaw. The ribs come sticky, stacked three layers high and satisfies my craving for ribs that I’ve had all day, almost immediately. The meat is tender, tasty, so good and so big that I’m encouraged to take them home. When does that ever happen without judgement? Never and I love it. Ribs for days… The chips and slaw are as you’d expect but don’t get a look in. Oops.
We share onion rings but I don’t even dig in because my ribs consume all my attention but I hear they hit the spot.
The drinks menu is extensive, including cocktails, wine and beer and has something for everyone, no complaints from me.
I really enjoyed the food at Nosh & Quaff and the atmosphere was really fun. It’s a great place to go after work or at the weekend if you fancy that BBQ fix. I’ll definitely be returning for some more messy times at Nosh & Quaff and so should you.
*Thanks to Paul Fulford, I was invited to try the food and drink. As always, my opinions are my own*
